This is the blog that supports the FASD Elephant™ Podcast, a podcast dedicated to “Changing the Metaphor for FASD One Person at a Time.” This blog is dedicated to anyone who wants to know more about FASD.
A blog is a bit different than a website, per se, in that a blog is frequently updated with new information, ideas, and (in this case) podcasts. The blog is a place to find notes about the podcast, links that were mentioned in the podcast, and the ability to leave comments or questions that I monitor and respond to. It’s a bit more interactive, in that way, than a website. For more information on blogs, click this Wikipedia entry on blogs.
The “Home Page” is where the most recent podcast episodes reside. You can listen to any podcast episode by click the gray, triangular icon under each golden-colored episode title, or you can subscribe to the podcast and receive each new episode in your podcatcher (e.g., iTunes) or by email. Check out the “What’s a Podcast” tab near the top of this page for more information about podcasts.
Earlier podcast episodes are ‘archived’ into the Archive Pages. You can view and listen to the older episodes by clicking on any link (denoted by month and year–e.g., ‘July 2007′) in the sidebar to the right of each page under the “Archives” heading. By doing so, a list of podcast episodes for that month will display for your convenience.
Other topics can be found by clicking the tabs near the top of the website or the links in the sidebar on the right hand side of the website. Except for when you’re on the home page, the tab of the page you are looking at will be a golden color. Navigation is really easy… just click back on the “Home” page tab if you ever feel like you are ‘lost’ on the blog.
At this point in time (July 2007), there is a “traditional” website hidden at www.FASDElephant.com/home.html (versus www.FASDElephant.com, or www.FASDElephant.com/podcast, the addresses for the blog). The website has less information on it, and yet the blog is where the action is–updated and revised frequently, more interactive, and (best of all) where the podcast episodes reside. Keep tuned in to the blog for the best information.
(And, you can actually “subscribe” to the blog for free, to get notified of the updates. Go on and click the next tab, “A Podcast?” for information on how to subscribe… there are several different ways, including email notification.)
